Course Duration:

This course is designed to be completed over 78 weeks (including 18 weeks of holidays).

Expected Study Hours: Typical learners are expected to spend 16 hours in classroom training and 4 hours of self-study each week.

Delivery Method:

This course is delivered through a combination of the following:

  2. Structured Self-Study
  3. Work Based Training (Work Placement): The amount of training includes 240 hours of work placement to be completed in an operational hospitality establishment (such as restaurants, cafes, and function venues), to demonstrate your skills and knowledge and to complete assessment requirements.

There are no formal pre-requisites required to enter this course.

However, Vigil International College requires students to meet the following criteria:

  • 18 years or older
  • Have basic computer skill
  • Hold a Current Student Visa
  • Have sound language, literacy, and numeracy skills.
    If you are from an English-speaking Background, you must have completed at least Year 10 English, or equivalent.
    If you are from a non-English speaking background, you must provide one of the following, as evidence, of upper intermediate proficiency in English:
    • IELTS total band score of at least 6.0 with no band less than 5.5, or equivalent.
    • TOEFL IBT, Pearson Test of English, Cambridge English Advanced with scores equivalent to IELTS 6.0 and no less than 5.5 in each band.
    • The English test must have been taken within two years before the application is made.
