Course Delivery Method:

Course Levels: The IELTS Preparation Course is delivered as 3 Levels. These are Intermediate, Upper Intermediate and Advanced.

Assessment Methods: Assessment will vary every week and may include reading or writing or listening or speaking tests. Students will complete practice IELTS Assessments under exam conditions, as their assessments.

Mode of Study: The course is delivered face-to-face and requires 20 hours of weekly attendance.

Course Duration:

The course can be completed between 4 to 30 weeks (excluding holidays). The course duration will be based off your Pre-Assessment Test and your target IELTS result.

The holiday period is a maximum of 6 weeks.

Start Date: IELTS Preparation Courses start every Monday.

Timetable: The timetables will vary from morning, afternoon, or evening classes. Visit the “Key Dates” section for further information on upcoming schedules.

There are no formal pre-requisites required to enter this course.

However, Vigil English College requires students to meet the following criteria:

  • 18 years or older
  • Hold a Current Student Visa
  • Current English Level: Intermediate Level of English or IELTS 6.0 or equivalent*

*Note: Students can only start the IELTS Preparation Course if they have an Intermediate level of English or above. If your English Level is lower, you will need to study General English until your English Skills are sufficient to meet the requirement of this course.

 

The cost of undertaking this course is $350 per week.

Other fees:

  • Enrolment Fee: an addition one-off fee of $300 is paid upon enrolment
  • Weekly Material/Textbook Fee: an additional $10 per week is charged for course materials.

This course specifically prepares learners for the IELTS exam and covers its four major test sections: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing. The course is designed to practise examination techniques necessary to perform well in the IELTS test, as well as continuing to build English skills more generally.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate for the IELTS Preparation Course.

Vigil International College has a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process in place which is discussed in detail in the RTO’s Recognition Policy and Procedure.

Prospective students are informed of the RPL Policy and procedures prior to enrolment in the course and through a variety of means, including pre-enrolment interview, enrolment form, student handbook, and website.
