This course is designed to be completed over 52 weeks (including holidays).

Expected Study Hours: Learners are expected to undertake 20 hours of training per week, in addition, students are required to complete self-directed learning hours to review learning materials, prepare for assessments, and participate in training activities.

Delivery Method:

This method of delivery is Blended (Face to Face & Online).

There are no formal pre-requisites required to enter this course.

However, Vigil International College requires students to meet the following criteria:

  • 18 years or older
  • Have sound language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills, at least Year 10 English or equivalent
  • Must hold a valid visa to study
  • Participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs
  • Additionally, international students must have an IELTS score of 6.0 with no band less than 5.5, or equivalent test results no more than 2 years old. English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:
    • Educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country
    • Successful completion of an English Placement Test, General English Upper Intermediate Level, or equivalent IBT, PTE Academic or CAE result
    • Satisfactorily completed Vigil International College’s Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy assessment

The cost of undertaking this course is:

  • Generally, students will have completed a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanic with Vigil International College.
  • Students will be from a range of countries and may be living in Australia for the first time or may have been here in the recent or more distant past.
  • Many will speak English as a second language, although an entry level has been set to ensure students are able to complete coursework.
  • Students are expected to typically fall within the age range of 18–35 years, as people still establishing or changing careers.

Successful achievement of the full qualification is composed of twelve (12) units designated as follows:

  • 6 elective units, of which:
    • All 6 units may be from the elective units listed below.
    • Up to 2 units may be from a Certificate IV qualification or above in this Training Package or another endorsed Training Package or accredited course.
